Spraying potatoes

Instructions for use

Powdered herbicide is diluted in water before use. Weed treatment is carried out by spraying or watering.

The solution is prepared in a plastic tank. Food containers must not be used.

How to dilute the powder:

  1. Fill the container 1/5 full with water.
  2. Add dry substance.
  3. Shake well.
  4. Bring the solution to the desired concentration by pouring in the remaining water.
  5. Stir again. The powder should completely dissolve.

Observe the dilution proportions indicated in the instructions for use. It is not worth saving: the herbicide is ineffective in a lower concentration. Dosages vary depending on the time of application of the drug: before germination or after.

PlantSolution concentrationConsumptionNumber of treatments
Potatoes (before germination)10 g for 3 liters of water.3 liters of ready-made solution per 100 m 2.Single spraying of the soil.
Potatoes (after germination)10 g for 9 liters of water.9 l of ready-made solution per 100 m 2.Single spraying of tops reaching 5 cm.
Seed Tomatoes3-5 g per 3 liters of water.3 liters of ready-made solution per 100 m 2.Single spraying at 3-4 leaf stage.
Seedling tomatoes7-10 g per 3 liters of water.3 liters of ready-made solution per 100 m 2.Single spraying of the soil 2 weeks after planting.

Spraying the solution is carried out strictly in calm weather so that particles of the substance do not fall on neighboring landings. The permissible wind speed is 4–5 m / s. The best time to process is early morning or late evening.

Before removing weeds on planting potatoes, you need to water and huddle well. The soil must be loose. If it is raining lightly, watering can be postponed.Moisture will help substances to penetrate into the surface layers of the soil, where the weed root system is located.

Agronomist in respirator

Security measures

Particles of the product should not come into contact with the skin and mucous membranes, therefore all work in the garden is carried out in a respirator or mask, goggles and a suit. Do not smoke, eat or drink while spraying. After processing, clothes are washed, shoes are washed. It is necessary to wash your face and hands, take a shower.

Common signs of metribuzin poisoning: headache, sore throat, dizziness.

In case of herbicide poisoning, you must:

  1. Move to fresh air or remove the victim.
  2. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water for 30 minutes. Keep your eyes open.
  3. In contact with the skin, the herbicide is washed off with water and laundry soap.
  4. If swallowed, you need to take a sorbent, induce vomiting and urgently consult a doctor.

Lazurite is flammable! Do not smoke or light a fire near the product.

It is prohibited to use the herbicide "Lazurit" near water protection zones and fisheries. The drug is toxic to bees. The permissible location of apiaries is at least 3 km. After processing, bees are not allowed on the site for 4 hours. Poultry is not allowed on the site for 2 days.

After death, the weeds are dug up and burned. The container from under the solution is also disposed of.

With a small number of weeds in the garden, pesticide treatments should be alternated with manual weeding in order to avoid a negative effect on the soil and the accumulation of toxic substances in the fruits. Potato tubers should be buried at least 15–20 cm deep in the soil!

Storage rules for the Lazurit herbicide are standard:

  • Away from food, feed and medicine.
  • Out of the reach of children.
  • Temperature range - from -10 to +40 degrees.

In sealed packaging, the shelf life is 5 years. The solution is used on the day of preparation and cannot be stored.

Herbicide Lapis Lazuli

What could go wrong?

What reduces the effectiveness of "Lazurit":

  • "Lazurit" is not suitable for soils with a humus content of less than 1% and for dry soils. The solution works well after moistening the soil.
  • On peat soils, the herbicide works by post-emergence application.
  • Do not loosen the soil after spraying.
  • Heavy rainfall can deepen the agent into the soil. Weed root systems are predominantly superficial, so the active substance in this case will not have time to penetrate the weed tissue.
  • At temperatures below +15 degrees, the effectiveness of the drug decreases.
  • The herbicide is ineffective in neglected, abandoned areas.

If the seedlings of useful crops have been damaged by frost or pests, the application of the pesticide will negatively affect it. You should not introduce poison when planting crops early. If the bushes are dry or have suffered from waterlogging, treatment will also not benefit them.

Optimal weather conditions and plant health are important for successful weed control.

If the herbicide is applied excessively, potato plantings may suffer: their vegetative parts will turn yellow, and the roots will acquire a blue-black hue during cooking. Also, the active substance metribuzin accumulates in fruits with non-standardized treatments. Such a crop is toxic to humans.

Weeds are a lot of hassle for gardeners, especially when it comes to common crops such as tomatoes and potatoes. Without herbicides, the amount of gardening work increases many times over. The modern drug "Lazurit" will become a reliable assistant, save time, save and even increase the harvest. But all this is subject to proportional and timely use.
